About Us
North Leeds Community Nursery is a
registered charity. Founded by parents in 1979, we now care
for up to 50 children between the ages of 3 months and eight years.
In December 2004 we moved into our brand new purpose-built building in the grounds of Beckett Park Primary
School, with excellent facilities and two secure outdoor play areas. The nursery provides a safe and happy environment for
children to socialise and learn through play.
What is a Community Nursery?
- A non-profit making organisation - all funds
are reinvested into the nursery
- Run by a management committee made up of
parents and carers
- An opportunity for
parents and carers to have a say in how the nursery works on a
day to day basis
- A chance to be a
part of a community, to take responsibility for the care of our
children and others’
Our Staff
Our nursery staff are NNEB/BTEC/PSLA
trained and are chosen and appointed by the parent management
committee. One of our main strengths is that our staff are
committed to the nursery and stay with us for many years providing
continuity for the children. Each child in our care has
a keyworker with whom you can discuss your child’s individual
needs.
Food
Our cook provides freshly prepared
food on site. We have fresh fruit every day and healthy, nutritious
snacks are given mid morning and teatime. We provide freshly
made baby food and special dietary requirements are catered for. The
children learn about healthy eating and enjoy getting involved in
food preparation.
Ofsted report
The nursery was inspected in November
2005. The quality and standards of nursery care and education were
found to be good. Read the full report here.
